Choosing art
Handmade wall art as a housewarming gift
Giving wall art for a griha pravesh or housewarming in India: choosing without knowing the walls, safe subjects and sizes, timing, and what we can do for gifts.

A piece of handmade wall art is one of the few housewarming gifts that stays on display for years. The only difficulty is that you don't know the walls. A few choices make it safe.
Choose small and calm
- A small piece, around 12 to 16 inches, fits almost anywhere: an entrance, a shelf, a study, a pooja corner.
- Neutral colours (ivory, sand, warm grey) sit with most interiors.
- Simple subjects suit a gift: a lotus, an Om, leaves, gentle abstract texture.
Why handmade wall art works as a gift
Most housewarming gifts are used up or put away: sweets, a dinner set, a plant that needs looking after. A piece on the wall is seen every day, and because it is made by hand after you order, it isn't something the couple will find in every other home. It also says something about the occasion: you are giving them something for the house itself.
For a griha pravesh
A devotional piece, such as a sculpted Om or lotus, is a thoughtful griha pravesh gift and has an obvious place in the new home: the entrance or the pooja corner.
If you know the couple well
Ask about their colours, or the room they're doing up first. Most pieces can be made in other colours, and a larger piece for a living room or bedroom then becomes a safe choice too.
What to avoid
- A very large piece, unless you know the wall: it needs a particular place.
- Strong, unusual colours, unless you know their taste.
- Subjects some families avoid at home, such as scenes of conflict or sorrow.
Timing
Every piece is made after you order: 3–7 working days to make, then about 2–5 working days in transit. For a housewarming on a fixed date, message a couple of weeks ahead. Delivery is charged separately: it depends on your location and the piece, and we confirm it on WhatsApp before you pay. The price includes the piece and its packing.
Sending it straight to them
We can deliver straight to the new home. Tell us the address and the date when you message, and we'll confirm the delivery charge before you pay.
